China House seeks to employ online and offline strategies through a partnership with WeChat to impact and engage Chinese communities living in Africa, and to inspire and empower them to help tackle wildlife smuggling chains. Chinese WeChat users will automatically be subscribed to an official account with a multi-function package as soon as their location is detected to be in Africa continent, at which point they will begin receiving practical knowledge and interactive activities.

The University of Pretoria's Veterinary Genetics Laboratory (VGL) developed RhODIS® and eRhODIS™ to individually identify rhinoceroses from horn samples, though this solution is applicable to other species and multiple regions. This provides a method to obtain an individual DNA profile from any part of the rhinoceros horn in order to link the horn to the animal that it was taken from, thereby linking criminals to specific crime scenes.
